Helicon West presents Gary Dop and the Bull Pen Flash
![]() ![]() When: Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Where: Jim Bridger Room Gary Dop - poet, performer, and playwright - is an English professor at Randolph College. His work appears widely in literary journals, including New Letters, PANK, Blackbird, Agni, and Sugar House Review. Dop was awarded the 2015 Great Plains Emerging Writer Prize, and his first book of poems, Father, Child, Water, sold out of its first print run of 1000 copies in less than two months. Bull Pen Flash readers: Alyssa Quinn, Jordon Roberts, Jace Smellie, Justin Smith, Challis Hackley, Daniel Johnson and Adrian Thomson. Helicon West is an open-mic opportunity combined with featured speakers; a place for writers to share and learn alike. Creative writers are invited to read up to seven minutes of their original work. Arrive early to sign up. Readings are free, open to the public and uncensored.
