Staff Reading Pick
![]() Here is another reading pick from the Logan Library Staff. Book: Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos Recommended by: Lois, Associate Librarian Do you need a good laugh? Come with Jack Gantos to Norvelt, PA for a memorable summer in 1962 when he is grounded for accidentally firing a live bullet from his dad's Japanese sniper rifle (among other things). The only time 12-year-old Jack is allowed to leave home is to help Mrs. Volker--an elderly neighbor and the town medical examiner--compose obituaries for the local paper. (Jack actually gets out a lot, since all the old ladies in town start dying mysteriously.) If you appreciate the weird, the gross and the wacky--this book is for you! Want more reading suggestions?
