Book: Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin
Recommended by: Becky, Childrens Librarian
This is easily the best children's fantasy novel I've read in years.  Deftly weaving together fantasy and Chinese mythology, it tells the story of a plucky young girl who sets out on a quest to find the Old Man of the Moon and change her poverty-stricken family's fortunes.  Beautifully written and totally captivating.
