The Physics Department at Utah State University recently donated several books to the library on the subject of lasers, as part of the American Physical Society's LaserFest program. LaserFest runs through calendar year 2010 and is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the invention of the laser. Lasers have profoundly impacted all our lives, being the critical technology in CD and DVD players, checkout machines at grocery stores, Lasik eye-surgery, and countless other applications.
