The American Library Association Youth Media Awards were announced earlier this week, and the following titles received awards: John Newbery Medal for the most outstanding contribution to children's literature: Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos Randolph Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children: A Ball for Daisy by Chris Raschka Theodor Seuss Geisel Award for the most distinguished beginning reader book: Tales for Very Picky Eaters by Josh Schneider Robert F. Sibert Book Award for most distinguished informational book for children: Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet Michael L. ![]() Did you know that the Logan Library provides bookclub kits to reading groups? Each kit contains 8-10 copies of one book along with a folder containing information about the author and title and a list of possible discussion questions. Check out the Book Club Kits page to see what books are available and to reserve a kit for your reading group.
Also, this might be a good time to reserve either the book club kit of Half the sky: turning oppression into opportunity for women worldwide or just an single copy.
