Library Birthday Celebration and Community Fair
clear

National Library Week is April 12-18, 2015. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. This year's theme is Unlimited Possibilities @ Your Library.

Events for Saturday April 18:

  • 10:00 a.m.: Library Birthday Celebration Kick Off, April 18 is the library's 99th birthday! Help the library "kick-off" our 100th anniversary in 2016 with activities all year long. The first event will be in the Children's area of the library. There will be a short ceremony with local and state dignitaries, light refreshments and the debut of the Library's Centennial song, composed by local musician Robert Linton.

  • 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: 2nd Annual Community Fair. To celebrate unlimited possibilities at our library, we're sponsoring a community fair and bringing life-changing nonprofit organizations right into the library! We'll also have a READ poster photo booth to get your picture taken for a library READ poster.

  • 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Logan's Earth Day Celebration held on the plaza just west of the library's entrance. Crafts, activities, music, food and prizes. Also, a Logan City Fire Truck is scheduled from 12 - 1 p.m. More information on exhibits and vendors.

  • 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.: Friends of the Library Book Store Grand Opening. Located just inside the west entrance to the library, the Friends have created a permanent bookstore. The BIG PUBLIC BOOK SALE will be held May 1st and 2nd.

Bring your friends and family to check out Unlimited Possibilities @ the Library!
