This week, April 13-19, is National Library Week. National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support.

This year's National Library Week Theme is "Join the Circle of Knowledge @ Your Library". The Logan Library is celebrating with displays related to this theme and contests for patrons of all ages. Come visit the library to enter one of our drawings for a gift card to a local bookstore.

We are holding our regular Book Sale on Friday, March 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the library conference room. In addition to used books, we are selling cassettes, CDs, videos and DVDs. Most items are priced between 50¢ and $2.00.

Children's Book Week is this week, November 12 -18. This year's theme is Rise up Reading. Visit the Logan Library to celebrate Children's Book Week with the following activities:

• Ratatouille Kitchen Quake game contest. Children ages 5-12 can fill out an entry form to win a Kitchen Quake board game.
• How many M&M's? Children ages 12 and under can guess the number of M&M's in the display case to win an airplane M&M's dispenser.
• Who's the Dragon? We have pictures of 15 dragons from picture books posted in the library. Correctly guess which book 10 of the 15 dragons come from and you will be entered in a drawing to win a gift card from a local bookstore.
• Children's Book Week Quilt. Children can submit a drawing of their favorite character from a children's book. Nine drawings will be selected for the 2007 children's book quilt. Past Children's Book Week Quilts are on display in the library.
