Book: Ivory's Ghosts: The White Gold of History and the Fate of Elephants by John Frederick Walker

This is an interesting history of the elephant. While most of us are today are fascinated by these large land-roving mammals, it is their ivory that tells the real story.  For most of the world's history, the ivory of elephants has led to their destruction due to the greed of man for this unique natural treasure.  Ivory's Ghosts is informative and thought provoking.

Book: Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

This is a great classic tale of betrayal, revenge, and overcoming obstacles.  It's long, but worth it.
