Bookcover: RedwallHere is another reading pick from the Logan Library Staff.

Book: Redwall by Brian Jacques
Recommended by: Joseph, Nonfiction Librarian
For some reason I waited decades to read this book and thankfully it didn't let me down. Join the novitiate mouse Matthias as he struggles to protect Redwall Abbey from evil and fulfill his warrior destiny! Vivid characters and a traditional good vs. bad plot make for an exciting adventure for older children.

Bookcover: SoullessHere is another reading pick from the Logan Library Staff.

Book: Soulless by Gail Carriger
Recommended by: Lois, Associate Librarian
What's a respectable Victorian girl of good-breeding to do when accosted by a rogue vampire?  Why, hit him with her parasol of course!  For a witty blend of romance, mystery, paranormal-and even a bit of steampunk--check out the first entry in The Parasol Protectorate series.  You won't soon forget the soulless spinster--Miss Alexi Tarabotti.

Bookcover: Ecclesiastical History of the English PeopleHere is another reading pick from the Logan Library Staff.

Book: Ecclesiastical History of the English People by Venerable Bede
Recommended by: Joseph, Nonfiction Librarian
Bede's History (c. AD 730) provides a fascinating look at how Christianity moved across England during the first millennium.  The wars and heresies, miracles and conversions all make for an interesting read which earned its author the title "Father of English History" and a place as one of my heroes.
