Bookcover: The Dog Who DanceHere is another reading pick from the Logan Library Staff.

Book: The Dog Who Danced by Susan Wilson

Recommended by: Karen, Assistant Director
Don't you love it when you find a new author?  I do!  I just finished "The Dog Who Danced" by Susan Wilson.  What a nice read!  It's about the journey of a dog named Mack and the people he helped along the way.  The story involves Justine, a single mother dealing with loss in her life and a couple named Alice and Ed, who are also dealing with loss in their lives.  Everyone needs a Mack in their lives.  I enjoyed reading about him while sitting on my deck enjoying a nice spring day!  Definitely a porch read.  Be sure to check out Susan's best selling novel "One Good Dog" as well as her other titles here at the library!

Bookcover: Finding Everett Ruess: The Life and Unsolved Disappearance of a Legendary Wilderness ExplorerHere is another reading pick from the Logan Library Staff.

Book: Finding Everett Ruess: The Life and Unsolved Disappearance of a Legendary Wilderness Explorer by David Roberts

Recommended by: Joseph, Nonfiction Librarian
When Everett Ruess was still in his teens in the early 1930s, he began taking long solo journeys across California and the desert Southwest. Drawn by a love of nature and an obsession with beauty, the young poet and painter led his burros up rocky mountain trails and across scorching deserts. But on one such journey that had taken him into southern Utah, Ruess disappeared forever, leaving only cryptic clues as to his fate. Author David Roberts takes us along Ruess' journeys, eventually becoming part of the continuing search for what happened to the young explorer. Recommended if you enjoyed Krakauer's Into the Wild.

Note: If you like the book or think you might, you may also be interested in seeing some of Everett Ruess' Block Prints on display at the Merrill-Cazier Library on the Utah State University Logan campus until April 29th. The exhibit includes a selection of block prints created by artist and writer Everett Ruess, depicting his travels throughout the western United States in the early 20th century.
