Polar Plunge
Special Olympics Utah is holding its annual Polar Plunge fundraiser at Hyrum State Park Reservoir. The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support Special Olympics Utah athletes by collecting pledges and donations for being brave to jump into the frigid icy waters of Utah in the middle of winter.

To become a Polar Plunge participant you must register on-line prior to the event (it is also possible to sign up on the day of the Plunge in Hyrum, but early registration helps things go more smoothly the day of the event).

All participants with a minimum pledge of $25, will receive a commemorative "I took the Plunge" t-shirt. But remember, this is a fundraiser for Special Olympics Utah so go out and get pledges and help raise money for the athletes. And whether you're a plunger or a spectator, it will be a grrrrreat day--with food, prizes, costume contest and fun for all.

The Polar Plunge is a fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Utah. Its purpose is to simply raise funds to enhance Special Olympics' mission: To provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

3:00 PM Prix Fixe: Dinner and a Show
Experience dinner and a show in historic downtown Logan! Start your evening off at the Bluebird Restaurant at 3PM then be whisked off to rural Texas in Old Lyric Repertory Company's rendition of Greater Tuna by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard at the historic Caine Lyric Theatre at 5PM. Greater Tuna is the hilarious comedy about Texas' third smallest town, where the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. The eclectic band of citizens that make up this town are portrayed by only two performers, making this satire on life in rural America even more delightful as they depict all of the inhabitants of Tuna -- men, women, children and animals. Rated I for Intermediate -- Recommended for children age 8 and older.

This event is part of Arts Week 2012.
